The FSB is supporting National Apprenticeship Week 2016

National Apprenticeship Week will be taking place across the UK from March 14th to 18th and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has been keen to throw its full support behind the event.

FSB policy director Mike Cherry explained how hundreds of events will be taking place up and down the country in the coming week to highlight the myriad opportunities that are out there for anyone wishing to train in an apprentice role.

Delivering the next generation of skilled professionals is essential for the future wellbeing of the national economy and therefore bringing together businesses and young people to find out more about what is available in the world of apprenticeships is a great cause to get behind.

"We hope this year's National Apprentice Week will lead to more businesses considering taking on an apprentice, and more young people seeking apprenticeships," Mr Cherry stated.

"The National Apprenticeship Service has lots of good advice for firms thinking of doing so and we encourage small business owners to take a look.

"We know that if a business has a positive experience when taking on their first apprentice, they are much more likely to take on another in the future."

This latest drive to increase the number of apprenticeships taking place across the UK forms part of the government's ongoing push to see more than three million new apprentice starts by the end of the decade.

It is something the government and the FSB both believe will deliver lasting benefits to not only individuals in the years ahead, but to businesses, communities and the whole of the UK.
